Sheila’s Mom is Darryl’s client at the salon he works in full time. Her mom told Darryl her daughter was getting married in 3 months, and still had not settled on a wedding hairstylist. Sheila has thick long course hair.
She had already tried 3 different hairstylists, and none were a good fit. Sheila’s mom asked Darryl if she could set up a trial run with him and his makeup artist for her daughter. The Bride required 3 looks. Darryl agreed, however, she warned him that her daughter was very particular, and could not make any promises.
Darryl’s 20+ years of styling brides of all different hair types, and skill of being creative, was about to be put to the ultimate test!
A wedding hair trial was promptly scheduled with Sheila in which Darryl created 3 looks. To create the 3 looks for Sheila’s thick long coarse hair, Darryl used Kera Care Silken Seal Oil and Paul Mitchell Flexible Style Sculpting Foam was applied to smooth out the hair, achieve a silkier texture, and control frizz. Each hairstyle was created using Paul Mitchell Worked Up Spray finished with the Paul Mitchell Stay Strong Hold Spray to ensure the hairstyle held up in the hot humid weather.
Look number 1 for Sheila’s Sangeet the look was a glam pin curl updo with soft strands framing the face, finished with rhinestone daisy hair pins, and a pearl bead and rhinestone floral head piece. Look number 2 for the wedding ceremony was a low bun adorned with a gold pearl bead and rhinestone vine, a middle part adorned with the Tikka, and finished with the veil (‘Dupatta’). Look number 3 was a half up half down updo with rhinestone daisy hair pins with soft strands framing the face.
