A licensed cosmetologist in New Jersey and Delaware, Darryl brings more than two decades of experience and a whole lot of energy to every client he works with. A proud graduate of the Rizzieri Aveda School in Voorhees, New Jersey, Darryl has been turning heads and transforming looks both in the salon and on location for brides, wedding parties, and special events.
Darryl’s goal? To make every full-service client and bride look and feel absolutely stunning while delivering an “It’s All About Me” service experience that’s fun, relaxed, and unforgettable. He offers his top-notch wedding and special event hairstyling services throughout New Jersey, Philadelphia, Delaware, and New York City, and he’s always up for traveling to other locations upon request.
Darryl’s Story and Personal Experience
Darryl’s passion for hairstyling is practically in his DNA. As a kid in New Brunswick, New Jersey, he started by styling his mother’s and sisters’ hair. The real magic happened when he moved to Virginia and began transforming his cousin’s old Barbie dolls into dazzling beauties with his creative touch. Little did his cousin know that those discarded dolls were just waiting for Darryl’s TLC to become the envy of the toy box!
Fast forward to his teenage years, Darryl was the go-to stylist for the ladies in his family and close friends. Despite his early talent, he didn’t dive into professional hairstyling right away. Instead, he spent ten years in corporate America, working in corporate travel, and took on the role of a shift manager at a fast food franchise, where he honed his leadership and customer service skills. But when a layoff package came his way, he seized the opportunity to chase his childhood dream.
Choosing the Rizzieri Aveda School of Beauty and Hairstyling was a no-brainer for Darryl. Graduating with honors and acing the State Board Exam on his first try, he racked up certifications in hair coloring, straightening, weaving, and extensions. His quest for knowledge didn’t stop there; Darryl keeps up with the latest trends through continuous education and his work as a fashion/runway model stylist.
Darryl’s love for wedding and special event hairstyling grew over the years, leading him to freelance for on-location wedding hairstyling. Brides loved his work so much that they started requesting his presence on their big day. To meet this demand, Darryl launched his own on-location wedding hairstyling business with his wife, Chantel.
Today, as the Founder and Lead Stylist at The Mane Event Beauty Artistry and Master Hairstylist and Artistic Director at Salon NV in Franklin Park, NJ, Darryl cuts, colors, and styles hair for women, men, and children. His fun and energetic personality shines through in every service, making each client’s experience enjoyable, pleasurable, and oh-so-relaxing.
